Gilbert White Beers

The Gilbert White house and the Triple fff Brewing Company have teamed up to produce a beer from a recipe by Gilbert White himself.

Gilbert White was born in Selbourne in 1720. During his life there, he was curate of St Mary's church. His spare time was taken up with studying nature. From his observations of the world around him, he produced a book, "The Natural History of Selbourne", which is one of the all time best selling books in the world, and still fascinates and delights audiences today. He was a keen brewer, and kept records of his ales and beers, brewed by his man Thomas. He once remarked "I ... Know that my strong beer is much admired by those who love pale beer."

Gilbert White beer is an adaptation of one of Gilbert Whites own recipes. Keeping as close to the original as is possible,  using only the finest carefully sourced hops, and smoked barley, the result is a strong, 6.0% ABV, smokey ale, golden in colour with a moderate hoppy bite. Not only is this beer available on tap, it is also been bottled "bright", so that every last drop can be enjoyed!
